Urge Your Senators to Co-Sponsor Amendment 138 to Senate HEALTH Act

The Massachusetts State Senate is currently reviewing a comprehensive health care cost containment package in an effort to curb state spending on health care. As we have long advocated, properly investing in the State's Continuous Skilled Nursing Program would result in a reduction in spending by preventing unecessary hospitalizations of this population.

Senator Joan Lovely has filed the CSN bill of rights legislation as an amendment to this bill. Use this alert to write to your legislators urging them to co-sponsor amendment 138.

Hearing on October 24th, 1 P.M. State House Room A-2

The Massachusetts State Legislature will be hearing H.1959/S.1273, an act for the Continuous Skilled Care of Fragile Children in the Commonwealth, on October 24th at 1 PM in State House Room A-2. The legislation seeks to hold MassHealth accountable for ensuring accessible and quality care for 900 of the Commonwealth's most medically fragile.

The MA Pediatric Home Nursing Care Campaign (made up of parents of medically fragile children) has teamed up with the provider agencies who help them find properly skilled nurses to provide care. Together, we want to work with the legislature and Governor Baker to ensure adequate care that these children deserve so that this population does not face a similar crisis ten years from now.
